Who We Are

We’re Oksana and Oleksii, a husband-and-wife duo from Ukraine and the founders of Light Craft Family. Our journey began in 2016 in Kyiv, where we met while working for the same electrical supplier. After getting married and starting a family, we dreamed of creating something of our own. When the war began in 2022, that dream took on new meaning — Oksana arrived in the UK with our children, while Oleksii stayed behind, designing and prototyping nightlights from oak in a small local workshop that was struggling to survive. Those first lights were hand-assembled, plastic-free, and crafted with care — a warm glow during a dark time.

In 2023 we reunited in London and officially launched Light Craft Family — a small, family-run brand creating oak wood nightlights and homeware. We continue to work with Ukrainian wood and proudly support local makers back home. Now, with a woodworking space in London, we can expand, customise, and bring new ideas to life. Our mission is simple: to make any space feel like home — just as we’ve done for our own family.

✨ A Light That Tells a Story

When you bring one of our lights into your home, you bring more than just a lamp. You bring a story of craftsmanship, sustainability, and resilience.

At Light Craft Family, every piece is designed with care, created with love, and made to brighten not only your room but also lives across two countries — the UK and Ukraine.

How We Make Our Lights

Our journey began in the summer of 2022 in a small wooden workshop near Kyiv, when the war separated our family — Oleksii stayed in Ukraine while Oksana moved to London with the children. Amid the chaos, Oleksii met a friend whose woodworking shop was struggling, and together they created a wooden night lamp — a small idea that grew into something meaningful. He worked tirelessly in a tiny loft, hand-finishing each lamp while learning through constant trial and error. When the family reunited in London, he brought their lights to the UK, but ongoing blackouts and material shortages in Ukraine made it clear they needed stability. That led them to BLOQs — a shared factory in London — where modern tools and a community of makers helped them rebuild production locally. Today, LightCraft lamps unite Ukrainian craftsmanship with UK creativity, each one hand-assembled by our family with care and resilience. Even Oleksii’s father has joined in, crafting unique pieces that connect generations and cultures.

Every light we make carries a story of survival, creativity, and hope — and when it shines in your home, you become part of that story too.
